Trying to capture a photo of the detail and colours. I blended the oil pastels together with some white spirits and linseed oils and used paintbrushes to apply them to my drawing.

Sunflower I am currently drawing in oil pastels. I’ve never really used them before so I didn’t know how they would turn out but I’m pleased with the effect so far. I have done some more detailing on it today then I have used some white spirits and linseed oil to help blend the oil pastels together and to paint in some details on the petals. The pastels have blended together nicely and I have been able to paint some details in. It was hard to draw the details with oil pastels but I suppose it gets easier the more you use them.

Pegasus in oil paints

A Pegasus painting in oil paints that I am working on once a week at an oil painting class I attend on Tuesday afternoons. I have done some more painting this afternoon.

Sunflower in oil pastels

I have made a start on this. I have no idea how it will turn out because I’m not used to using oil pastels. I’ve never really tried to use them before and I don’t know how to use them. I am also drawing on a thin card and I don’t think it’s the best surface for them. I will have a look at it tomorrow in natural light before doing anymore work on it.

Pegasus drawing

I had almost forgotten about Pegasus but I started another version of this drawing in an oil painting class I have just discovered today. I will be finishing this one in the class to I think. The printout of the source image is included in my photos. I will also be using the projects I included photos of to do some Pegasus drawings and paintings in the future #pegasus #pegasusart #pegasusdrawing #pegasusdrawings #greekmythology #flyinghorse #mythology https://www.instagram.com/p/CfpFTxRr2jP/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=

My Pegasus drawing which I’m still doing with the source image above it. I don’t know who the artist is who created the Pegasus in my source image.
Chloe one of my cats coughed a fur ball up on my drawing so I had to clean it off as best I could and paint the background in with gouache paints to cover up the mark.

Projects

Some projects. The lino print owl has been completed. The sunflower oil pastel drawing has begun and the Pegasus’ are progressing. One Pegasus is being painted once a week at an oil painting class I go to on Tuesday afternoons. Look out for updates then. The other Pegasus with the blue background is a drawing I have been working on at home in pastels pencils and soft pastels. Some details may be added with gouache paints as one of my cats Chloe decided to cough a fur ball up on it so I had to paint the background in blue to cover it. I’ll turn it into a sky.
